The last few days have been difficult for all of us. This has been the last biggest chance for the media to virtually pick Michael’s bones since they already hounded him to death. Some of them, like Diane Dimond, really have no careers without Michael to dump on. We are seeing the worst in human behavior lately. On the other side of that is the endless love that so many have for Michael. The powerful love that exists in the Michael Jackson community is becoming a legend just like the man. That love encompasses Michael and each other. It has expanded beyond to humanitarian work that will become legend as well. I have met some of the most spectacular people in the last two years. I would not change that for anything.
As Rebecca reminded us yesterday, the haters’ din will fade and once again we will be able to ponder the mystery and genius of Michael as an artist and a man. We will be able to see his influence in a myriad of ways. There is Frankie, the young boy dancing in the kitchen to Smooth Criminal. There is Megan who will be dancing to MJ this Friday night with her 20-something college friends who are celebrating his art. There is Candice, Hannah’s friend, who is discovering Michael for the first time and loving the experience. There is the Immortal World Tour bringing the experience of Michael to the people who have purchased $40,000,000 in tickets so far--$2.5 million per show which is $1 million more per show than Lady Gaga, Justin Bieber and Eminem combined. There are the Thriller and other flash mob dances to Michael’s music like the one recently held in 29 countries on the same day. Those dancers were of all ages, many of them children. Then, there are the countless artists like the late Heavy D, will.i.am, Akon, LLCoolJ, Beyonce, Santana, Stevie Wonder, Teddy Riley, Michael Bearden, Judith Hill, Jonathan Moffet, Greg Philinganes, Travis Payne, young Justin Bieber, and soooooooooo many of the people that worked with and were inspired by Michael through the years. There are also the musicians, dancers, singers, painters, writers and others that were inspired by Michael Jackson to create their own art.
Michael Jackson's existence on this earth made the world a much richer place.
The legend continues……
